The Big Draw So Far...

The Big Draw is the world's biggest drawing festival with thousands of enjoyable, and mainly free, drawing activities which connect people of all ages with museums, outdoor spaces, artists, designers, illustrators - and each other.

The Big Draw is for anyone who loves to draw, as well as those who think they can't!

On Wednesday 21st October over 100 primary and secondary school students from Prendergast Vale worked in the main hall on 4 massive collaborative illustrations, created a story together and produced some weird and wonderful characters. The theme was Every Drawing tells a story.... the students used their imaginations as well as a collection of famous and well loved children's books to combine illustrations with students of a variety of ages. The day was a real success, and our secondary school students involved proved to be mature and helpful with the primary phase. The work was displayed after school for a small private view attended by students, parents and teachers. The work will be mounted and displayed in the school in the near future.

We hope to do many more art projects with the primary school again soon...
