I'm a Scientist Get Me Out of Here

Y7 and Y8 will be taking part in I’m a scientist, Get me out of here! in Science this November.

I’m a Scientist, Get me out of here is a free online event where school students get to meet and interact with scientists. It’s a free X Factor-style competition between scientists, where the students are the judges. Students challenge the scientists over intense, fast-paced online live CHATs. They then ASK the scientists all the questions they want to, and VOTE for their favourite scientist to win a prize of £500 to communicate their work to the public. For more information please visit http://imascientist.org.uk/.

Students have been assigned Top the Tantalum Zone which has a mix of scientists from different backgrounds, covering a wide range of scientific fields. If you think you have obscure and weird question about science then someone here should be able to answer it! In this zone there are scientists building computer models to study the nature of dark matter, gravity and the Universe; understanding what the superpowers of plants and bacteria can do, designing particle accelerators, making steel even stronger, and firing light at proteins to see their shape.

Watch this space to find out who wins!
