Dear Parents & Carers,
We are pleased with the GCSE results this year. As you will be aware there has been a high degree of uncertainty surrounding the calculation and publication of GSCE results but all students were able to receive their final results as planned. Most of our students arrived in school on Thursday to share the anticipation and excitement of results with their GSCE teachers.
Teachers worked through the period of lockdown carefully considering all the work of each individual student to arrive at a final grade in each of their subjects. Students can therefore be confident that the results they recieved are valid and accurately refelct their achievements throughout the previous two years at Prendergast Vale. The results reflect the hard work of our students and they should be proud of their achievements.
At this stage, it is not important to make whole group comparisons with the results from previous years. However, all students can be proud of their achievements and are now well prepared for the next stage of their education or training. In particular, there are some individual students whose results match the very best results nationally and deserve a special mention: These include :
- Delilah who achieved an amazing set of results 9 grade 9's
- My Khanh, Heather and Maggie who each achieved at least 7 grade 9's
- Samuel who achieved 6 grade 9's and 2 grade 8's
- Haiwei and Trim's progress since Primary school which has been confirmed as outstanding!
I would like to thank all our students for their efforts this year, parents for their strong support of their children especially during the final term and our teachers, for working diligently with students during the period of school closure.
I am very proud of the exceptional way in which our students have responded to these times, demonstrating high levels of resilience and optimisim in response to extraordinary interruptions to their studies and changes to family life. We wish all our students well and will continue to support them with their career aspirations.
Mr D Kamya
