Our Local Governors

Kara Ross

Co-opted Governor

Kara works for a national children’s charity.  Kara's work focusses on delivering support,
training and tools to help local authorities and their partners deliver better outcomes for
disabled children and young people and those with special educational needs.

She has over ten years’ experience working with children and young people in voluntary,
community and play settings, as well as schools. She is passionate about creating safe,
inclusive and nurturing environments which support young people to develop skills and
confidence, and to have their views heard on matters concerning them.

She holds expertise in special educational needs and disabilities, inclusive practices, and safeguarding, which
she is excited to bring to the role of governor.

Kara grew up in Glasgow, but moved to South East London in 2018 to complete a Master’s
degree in Literature at Goldsmiths.
