Start of Term Arrangements & Reminders

 

 

Dear Parents, Carers, and Students,

We hope you have had a restful and enjoyable summer break. As we prepare to open our doors for the new academic year, please find key details regarding the start of term arrangements, key dates, uniform expectations, and required equipment.

Key Dates for Autumn Term

  • Wednesday 3rd September: Staff Training Day (School closed to students)

  • Thursday 4th September: Start of term

    • 8.15am: Vian Street gate opens for Years 7 and 11

    • 11.00am: Elmira Street gate opens for Year 8, 9 and 10

  • Monday 7th September: Year 11 Parents Information Evening

  • Tuesday 8th September: Year 10 Parents Information Evening

  • Thursday 10th September: Year 8 Parents Information Evening

  • Tuesday 15th September: Year 9 Parents Information Evening

  • Thursday 17th September: Year 7 Parents Information and Meet the Tutor Evening

  • Friday 23rd October: Federation INSET day

  • Half term: Monday 26th October - Tuesday 3rd November

  • Return to school on Wednesday 4th November

Uniform Reminders

We take great pride in our school identity and expect all students to wear the full school uniform correctly every day.

  • Blazer: School blazer with badge (must be worn at all times around the school site).

  • Shirt: Plain white shirt, fully buttoned and tucked into trousers/skirt.

  • Tie: Official school tie, worn neatly up to the collar.

  • Trousers/Skirt: Tailored black trousers or official pleated school skirt (knee-length)

  • Footwear: Plain, polishable black leather shoes or fully black trainers. 

  • Jewellery & Makeup: Two pairs of small, plain silver or gold studs in earlobes only. One small nose stud. False nails and false eye lashes are not permitted.Nail polish must be natural and discreet.

  • PE Kit: Official school sports shirt, green shorts/black tracksuit trousers (unbranded)

Equipment Expectations

To ensure lessons begin promptly without disruption, every student must arrive with a fully equipped pencil case every day.

Essential Daily Items:

  • 2x Black or blue ballpoint pens

  • 2x HB Pencils

  • 1x Red pen (for self/peer corrections)

  • Pencil sharpener and eraser

  • 30cm clear ruler

  • Calculator

  • Reading book
